DEHNcombo YPV Photovoltaic Surge Arresters

The DEHNcombo YPV combination arrester protects equipment in photovoltaic systems from lightning currents. With application-optimized discharge capacity of 6.25 kA (10/350 µs) per pole, DEHNcombo YPV meets the latest requirements of EN 50539-12 and Annex 5 of DIN EN 62305-3.

Safe for All PV System Sizes

DEHNcombo YPV's short-circuit withstand capacity of 10 kA easily meets all requirements for small, medium, and large photovoltaic installations. The arrester can be used without additional main protection in all PV systems up to 10 kA. Its specially engineered housing design accommodates even the 1500 V variant without special precautions or safety distances, making it versatile across voltage levels.

Space-Efficient Installation

  • Compact Design: Requires only 4 module units of space for extremely space-efficient installation
  • Available Voltages: 1200 V and 1500 V variants cover standard PV system voltage levels
  • Fault-Resistant Configuration: Y-connection design minimizes arrester failure probability during operating and fault conditions typical in PV systems
  • Equal Rated Voltage: All protection paths have the same rated voltage, enabling use in grounded systems

Low Power Consumption & Status Monitoring

An important consideration for photovoltaic systems is minimal self-consumption. The operation-independent function/fault indicator provides immediate status information while consuming virtually no operating current—meeting PV system efficiency requirements.

Optional remote signaling contacts are configured as potential-free changeover switches, allowing use as normally open or normally closed contacts depending on your circuit design.
