DEHNguard MD Maximum flexibility during installatoin

The DEHNguard MD series combines powerful type 2 + 3 surge protection with maximum flexibility during installation. The innovative double screw connection allows wiring of conductors of different sizes – both for stub wiring and feed-through wiring. The option of feed-through wiring saves space, simplifies planning and makes retrofitting in existing systems easier.

What sets the DEHNguard MD apart

  • Broad scope of usage

    With variable connection options - on e conductor up to 35 mm² or tow conductors up to 16 mm² each - the DEHN guard MD series is the right solution for a wide range of applications.

    Efficient retrofitting

    The double screw connection replaces upstream terminal blocks and reduces material and labour costs during installation. The DEHNguard MD series can therefore be easily integrated into existing systems.

    The elimination of upstream components creates space for future ones and ensures more efficient and clearer cabling.

    Standard-compliant conductor lengths

    Thanks to the possibility of feed-through wiring, you can easily comply with the maximum conductor lengths as per DIN VDE 0100-534 / IEC 60364-5-53.

  • Easy maintenance

    The pluggable modules can be replaced quickly and easily in the event of a fault. In addition, the floating remote signalling contact always provides reliable information about the status of the arrester.

One solution, a variety of options

The DEHNguard MD series offers reliable surge protection for sub-distribution boards, switchgear for machines and control systems in industrial plants, the process industry and railway applications. The surge arresters are also optimally tailored to modern automation systems and ensure a safe and stable power supply in functional and commercial buildings. Type 2 + 3 certification by DEKRA enables protection of terminal equipment for cable lengths of up to 10 m.

EMC-optimised installation in accordance with standards – less effort, more space

The new double screw technology is particularly advantageous for EMC-optimised wiring as per IEC 60364-5-53 (DIN VDE 0100-534), as it does not generate a high inductive voltage drop across the connection cables. There is no need to use upstream pin terminals, which simplifies installation even in confined spaces. A direct comparison with the previous wiring via terminal blocks (left installation) shows how the double screw technology of the DEHNguard MD (right installation) saves space:
